Spring Newsletter 2025: Making our roads safer and what’s on this spring

Our Spring 2025 quarterly newsletter is now available to read and download below.

Making our roads safer

The Parish Council continues to talk regularly with Cheshire East Council, our local MP and the Police and Crime Commissioner about our list of priorities for improving roads in the parish, as part of our Safer Roads campaign, which began in 2023. Money is tight in the public purse, so difficult choices have to be made, but there are things residents can do to support the push for further improvements.

  • Report potholes and road damage through FixMyStreet Cheshire East. The more issues people report, the more pressure there is on the local authority to act.
  • Report unsafe driving to Cheshire Police through their online form, and upload dashcam footage of any incidents if you have it.
  • Join our Speedwatch group. All Parish Councillors have been trained, and we are looking for community members to join in making our roads safer.

Speedwatch results

On 14th March, between 3.45pm and 4.45pm, the Speedwatch group recorded 26 vehicles over the speed limit on the Burleydam 30mph stretch of road, at speeds ranging from 36 to 49mph. The data is passed to the Police to help them deal with the offending drivers.
