Spring Newsletter 2026: New councillor Rachel Weaver and saving our PCSO

Sunlit woodland carpeted with bluebells in spring

Blooming good wishes from the Parish Council! Our Spring 2026 quarterly newsletter is now available to read and download below.

New Parish Councillor: Rachel Weaver

The Parish Council is pleased to introduce its latest recruit, Rachel Weaver. Rachel has lived in the parish all her life and works on her family’s farm. She has joined the Parish Council because she cares about the area she grew up in and wants to play a part in its future, helping to make sure decisions reflect the needs of residents.

Saving our PCSO

Dodcott-cum-Wilkesley Parish Council joined other Parish Councils and our local Ward Councillor to voice concerns to the Police and Crime Commissioner about Cheshire Constabulary’s proposal to cut the number of Police Community Support Officers from 87 to just 27 across the county.

As a result of objections, 30 PCSO posts have been saved, and our local PCSO, Nick Jarvis, will remain in post. Nick is a valuable asset to policing the rural communities, offering support to many community groups and initiatives. In non-emergency situations, he can be contacted by dialling 101 and leaving a message.

The next Parish Council meeting, including the AGM, will take place on Monday 11th May at 7pm at Burleydam Church. Residents are very welcome to attend.
